Live Recording Mixing

Mixing for concerts, festival sets and filmed sessions, from a studio that has mixed more than 75 of them.
What we do
You have a recording of a show, a festival set or a session filmed somewhere other than a studio. We mix it so it sounds like the night: from the room and audience mics outwards, with the bleed, the crowd and the dynamics left in. We mix for release, for video, or both.
Who mixes it
Every credit, with who recorded and who mixed each session: session credits.

Rasmus Bredvig
Rasmus Bredvig recorded KEXP's four sessions at SPOT Festival 2022 with Jonna Aspeklev and mixed all four: Rigmor, Brimheim, Jeuru and JJ Paulo. Since 2017 he has recorded or mixed live sessions with Iceage, The Murder Capital, Mikal Cronin, Bambara, Moaning, Ulrika Spacek and Elias Rønnenfelt, in concert halls, clubs, two bowling alleys, a brewery and a glass museum.
What to send
The multitrack (one WAV per channel, full length, unprocessed), the board mix, the audience mics, a setlist and a short note on which songs matter.
Mixing FAQ for Artists
Can you mix a live recording you didn't record? Yes. 14 of our 75 sessions were recorded by other engineers and mixed by us.
Can you fix mistakes in a live recording? Some. Noise, phase, spill and edits usually; clipping and PA spill partly. We listen first and tell you honestly before you pay.
Do you mix for video? Yes. We mix to picture and check on phone and laptop speakers.
How long does it take? It depends on what's on the desk, but a real release date can usually be met.
What does it cost? We quote after hearing a rough board mix of the set.
Do you master live recordings too? Yes, in-house, as one piece so the set plays like a show.
Want of mix that fully captures the live energy and atmosphere?
Send a rough board mix or recording and we will give it a listen.
